Electronic card checks are the most secure way to ensure a CSCS card is valid and that every card holder is qualified for the job they do on site. An electronic scan enables you to confirm the holder’s identity, training and qualifications while helping the industry to root out fake and fraudulent cards
There are a number of ways to check whether a CSCS card is valid.
It couldn’t be easier. All CSCS cards are Smart – they contain a chip which allows the card to be scanned using a phone, tablet or PC. Employers can read the information stored on the card using a smartphone or tablet device with the free Go Smart app installed.

The most convenient way for employers (or individuals) to check the validity of a card is via their CSCS Online account. If you already have an account, please login to view the status of your cards. Here you will be able to verify the card holder’s qualifications and training as well as checking if the card is valid or “expired.”

A quick and easy way to check if a card is valid is via one of the free online card checkers. Simply enter the required data to view the status of a card.
Go Smart card checker: Check cards from CSCS and several Partner Card Schemes by entering a registration number and surname.
CITB card checker: Follow the steps on the screen view the status of a card.
